Dive Sites near Safaga
Abu Dabab
Abu Dabab is a fantastic camping place, ideal for snorkelling and diving. The shallow place is covered with sea grass and you are likely to see many turtles, pyramid fishes and guitar sharks while you are here. If you are lucky you can sometimes see a sea cow.
Middle Reef
For a wild drift- dive take a boat to the Middle Reef. It is not just beautiful but also exciting. With typically good visibility (10-30m). Most suitable for CMAS*/OW divers. It is an amazing reef with coral garden on both east and west side.
Gamul Soraya
This small reef, 100 m long, has some ergs to the south-east, covered in colourful corals. A current may be running on the outside of the reef cluster. Watch out for the striking yellow and brown tiger flatworm. A truly beautiful dive.
Tobia Soraya
This one is the smallest of the Tobia dive sites. The two small reefs run parallel north to south, broken up into ergs. You can dive all the around or go in and out the same way. There is lots of sea life on the outer east side of the reef. Look out for Great Barracuda.
